Do you have a broken foundation, and want to share, and encourage someone else on how to overcome?

My name is Lestina Crockett, 42 year old wife and mother of 4 children. I was born and raised in one of the most notorious ghettos in the world, Compton California. I was born in 1969, and like most little black girls in the ghettos of the world. I was once broken, by family, friends co-workers, lovers etc.

My purpose in starting this blog is to share my story. To reach a woman, young lady, or an awareness that even though we all may have been Once Broken. You can still be a survivor, and not live a life a victim. Yet a life of a survivor!

We are women, walking wounded. Ashamed to share our stories. We bury the heartache, and pain and scars. But essentially happens is we make our loved ones around us to pay the harsh price for trying to love us today. The new man is our lives, to pay the price for the men that hurt us and let us down.

We over protect our children, in hopes of "it" never happening to them. But squeeze them so tight. That when they get of age, they get on the next thing smoking to get far away from their smothering mother. Run a good man off, because he is being emotionally punished for the faults of the "other" man. Living our lives very guarded, not willing to confront our issue head on.

I want to talk about this, and any others topics that will come up. Be sort of support, and answer questions on how I got over the hurdles. And still have many to overcome. I am willing to share, if you are.
